DRESS CODE 101 (Backpacking Getup)

No one wants to be soaking wet while in a camping activity. So, how does one avoid incidents like this? First things first, know the condition of the place you’ll be going to.

Sun-exposed places. Hats, eyeglasses, sun block, towels, and arm sleeves are your best friends here. Change your damp clothes during rests.

Windy and humid places. Fleece, jackets, and waterproof breathable raincoats are very helpful to keep your body warm and away from cold-related sickness like hypothermia. An extra pair of socks can also prevent your wet feet from blisters.

The aforementioned group of clothing has obvious reasons on why this should be worn on where and when. You can add up gloves, scarves to complete your getup. Loose-fitting pants with tight leggings underneath will allow you to move freely while being protected from any insects that might crawl up your torso. If possible, avoid cotton fabrics and wear dri-fit shirts instead.

Still, the best thing to do is read and research about the place instead of playing the guessing game.

WORRY-FREE CAMPING (How to prevent insect bites)

Camping 1

During outdoor activities like camping, one of your least priorities is bringing stuff that will make your pack heavier, which includes bottles–deodorant, body lotion, perfume, insect repellent. Wait, insect repellent?

Fine. You don’t want to load your bags with bottles but how will you prevent insects from being attracted to your seemingly luscious skin? That is the part where we can make use of the word prolific.

Once you reach the campsite, create a bonfire. The fire usually keeps the insects away. Wear dark-colored and long-sleeved dri-fit or clima-fit shirts and pants as well, which are way lighter than cotton-made clothes. Avoid applying scented lotions. Keep your tent always closed to prevent any type of insect from going in. And believe it or not, eat garlic–it makes a scent of insect repellent when secreted through your pores.

If none of these still don’t apply, just stay at home and watch TV.
